Strong Hearts, Strong Spirits: Women’s Healing Retreat
Strong Hearts, Strong Spirits: Women’s Healing Retreat
March 6–8 | Two Village Days + One Land-Based Day at Kunsoot
There is strength in gathering. There is medicine in a circle.
Strong Hearts, Strong Spirits is a three-day cultural wellness retreat designed for Heiltsuk women and women living within the Heiltsuk community seeking renewal, connection, and grounded pathways forward. Rooted in trauma-informed care and ancestral wisdom, this gathering creates space to release what we carry, reconnect with culture, and rebuild daily practices of wellness held by land and community.
Over three days, women will move through a gentle arc of healing:
• Pathways to Healing Workshops
• Cultural Arts & Medicine Making
• Restorative Yoga & Sound Therapy
• Massage Therapy
• Grief & Release Ceremony
• Land-Based Closing at Kunsoot
Together, we will explore resilience, grief, identity, and restoration. Through somatic practices, creative expression, ceremony, and collective witnessing, participants will gain tangible tools they can continue using long after the retreat ends.
This retreat is for women who are:
• Navigating grief or life transitions
• Seeking deeper cultural connection
• Ready to reclaim personal wellness
• Looking for supportive community
• Wanting practical tools for nervous system regulation and healing
You do not need to be “healed” to attend. You only need to arrive as you are.
Come sit in circle. Come breathe again. Come remember your strength.

Paddle As Transformation - Art Workshop
About the event
Paddle As Transformation – Art Is Medicine Workshop
In this Art Is Medicine workshop, we meditate on the teachings of the paddle and its power to carry us anywhere in the world. Inspired by Raven’s story and Hebas Paddle, we will reflect on the gifts we hold, and how we might share them.
Through imagination and creation, we’ll ask: If you had magical powers, where would your paddle take you? Participants will design and paint their own paddle — transforming wood with abalone inlay and their own visions. Your paddle can become earrings, a keychain, a necklace, or a bookmark to carry with you.
This workshop is open to Native and non-Native participants alike. Come ready to ground, imagine, and create together.
